What Makes Your Heart Sing? Finding Joy in the Holy Spirit
Have you ever experienced a moment so pure, so full of life, that your heart felt like it was singing? Maybe it was the birth of a child, a breathtaking sunset, or an unexpected answer to prayer. These moments remind us that true joy isn’t found in circumstances—it’s found in something deeper.
Jesus experienced this kind of joy in Luke 10:21-24. After sending out 72 disciples to proclaim the Kingdom of God, He rejoiced—not because of what they accomplished, but because of what God was doing through them. His joy overflowed in praise as He thanked the Father for revealing His truth to the childlike.
So, what makes your heart sing?
The Joy of the Holy Spirit
Jesus’ joy was rooted in something eternal—the redemptive plan of God. And this same joy is available to us today, through the Holy Spirit. But we often settle for lesser things, chasing happiness that fades instead of the deep, abiding joy that God offers.
The joy of the Holy Spirit:
What’s Silencing Your Song?
Many things try to steal our joy:
Reclaiming Your Song
If your heart feels heavy today, remember this: Jesus wants you to experience His joy. He tells us in John 15:11, “I have told you these things so that you may be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!”
So, what makes your heart sing?
A Prayer for Joy
God, restore to me the joy of Your salvation. Help me to find joy in Your presence, not in my circumstances. Teach me to celebrate Your work—both in my life and in others. Fill my heart with a song of praise that overflows into the lives of those around me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Let’s live with the kind of joy that makes our hearts sing!
